Truck Company Operations Under Fire
Ret. Lt. John ‘Bones’ Earley, Lead Instructor
Each task on the fire ground requires a unique set of skills.
Our class is designed to coach the new member wishing to add new truckie skills to their fire ground tool box and challenge the experienced firefighter by limiting sight and adding the effects of fire and the fire ground environment to the evolutions.
After a brief classroom discussion of truck skills which will include video examples, the students will get the opportunity to learn and apply forcible entry techniques to inward and outward swinging doors, burglar bars, perform vertical ventilation, and pull ceilings.
Use of hand tools and power tools will be an integral part of this training and full PPE will be required including SCBA with spare cylinder (both cylinders will be checked for in date hydrostatic testing compliance).
Some evolution's will include limited visibility and smoky conditions.
Two experienced instructors per skill station will be there to coach you according to your experience level giving you the confidence as you develop your psycho motor skills.
